Turn the Page Event Brings Adventure to Life

Turn the Page Event Brings Adventure to Life

6th-grade scholars participated in the Turn the Page Event hosted by the Mississippi Book Festival. The event offered an engaging literacy experience designed to spark imagination and excitement around reading. The featured book was Chainbreakers by Julian Randall.

Chainbreakers is a fast-paced middle-grade fantasy novel that follows a courageous young girl named Violet Moon as she works to rescue her father and save her underwater world. Along her journey, Violet faces weaponized ghost-sharks known as the Children of the Shark. The story captivated scholars with its action, creativity, and themes of bravery, determination, and family.

As part of the event, scholars also received a signed copy of Chainbreakers, making the experience even more memorable and encouraging continued reading beyond the classroom. The Turn the Page Event provided scholars with a meaningful opportunity to connect with literature while reinforcing the importance of reading for both learning and enjoyment.
